Meet Sam Codlin, Our Founder
Originally from the UK, Sam has called Australia home for the past 14 years and brings 18 years of experience in the building industry to Codlin Carpentry.
While experience and workmanship are important, Sam believes a successful renovation is just as much about the relationship with the people you're building for.
Renovating or extending a home is a big decision. Clients are investing in the place they live, often while juggling family, work and everyday life around the project. Sam understands that people want more than someone who can simply do the work — they want a builder who listens, communicates clearly and genuinely cares about getting the right result for their home.
That starts with understanding the client.
Some people arrive with detailed plans and know exactly what they want. Others simply know their home isn't working for them anymore and need help figuring out what's possible. Sam enjoys both.
His strength in renovations comes from listening first, then problem solving. Every existing home is different and every client has different priorities, so there isn't always one obvious answer. Sam takes the time to understand how people use their home, what they want to change and what's most important to them before working through the best approach.
For Sam, the best projects aren't simply the ones that look great when they're finished. They're the ones where the client walks into the completed space and feels like their home finally works the way they wanted it to.

Codlin Carpentry
Codlin Carpentry was built around a simple idea: do quality work, treat people properly and build relationships along the way.
Based on the Northern Gold Coast, Codlin works with homeowners throughout Runaway Bay, Hope Island, Paradise Point, Coombabah and surrounding areas, specialising in substantial deck projects, home renovations, extensions and custom residential work.
The business deliberately maintains a personal approach.
From the first conversation through to the final stages of a project, clients know who they're dealing with and are encouraged to ask questions, talk through ideas and be involved in the process.
Building work can sometimes feel overwhelming from the outside, particularly if you've never renovated before. Part of Codlin's job is to make that process easier to understand — explaining what needs to happen, working through decisions together and keeping communication open as the project progresses.
